Questions transmitted by UGICT CGT trade unionfor 03.25.04 shop-stewards’/HRM meeting
Sorry, the cafeteria in TECHNIP tower will be closed next Thursday, April 1st, because the poll for election of works council members and shop stewards will take place in this room. All TECHNIP FRANCE’s employees in the Company will be able to vote from 9.30 a.m. to 4 p.m. They will have to choose between the lists of candidates presented by the three trade unions represented at TECHNIP FRANCE. Shop stewards and works council members are elected for two years and are granted paid time to carry out their personnel representatives’ duties. Salary rise requested: 2.5 %
All unions request a 2.5 % salary rise for all employees. 2004 bonus
UGICT CGT requests a 1500 € bonus for all employees. Assignments in the group’s subsidiaries - Payment of overtime
Legal maximum working hours in France are: 10h/day, 48h/week, 46h/week over a period of 10 weeks. Many employees work overtime when assigned in subsidiaries or doing business travels in Subcontractors’ or Vendors’ facilities and are not paid for overtime. UGICT CGT shop stewards request that all overtime should be paid according to the legal rates and that nobody should work beyond legal maximum working hours. Opening hours in the Reprography department
The Reprography department has been requested to increase opening hours. UGICT CGT shop stewards request that additional employees should be hired in order to allow work to be completed within standard working hours (7.30 h/week) and that persons to be present during early and late hours should be chosen in agreement with the department’s employees. Improvement of the restaurant in TECHNIP tower
Last month, Executive Management representatives made commitments for a few improvements. Action seems not to have been taken since. Beyond already mentioned issues, new problems have been noted such as the following: dishes at set prices not available in the kiosk indicated or not mentioned in the payment terminal. It has also been noted that meat dishes gradually disappear from the list of 1st and 2nd price dishes. UGICT CGT shop stewards request that Executive Management’s commitments should be complied with and that improvement actions should be taken, and in particular the following: Restaurant price rates
A tax per meal of €5.18 and a VAT additional tax are added to the price of all external personnel meals. This tax is unfair and doubles the price of a meal, for instance it raises the price of a sandwich to nearly €7. UGICT CGT shop stewards request that these taxes should be deleted. Besides, they ask what will be the consequences of the measures taken by the French government to support the restaurant owners: will additional employees be hired in the restaurant? will prices be lowered? Elevators
After a study carried out upon Corporate Services’ request, a new system has been adopted. Executive management failed to transmit this study to shop stewards, notwithstanding its commitment. UGICT CGT shop stewards request that this study should be transmitted. They request corrective actions promised to be taken at last, in particular: Working conditions: noise, etc.
In 2003, when most TECHNIP FRANCE’s employees have been transferred to TECHNIP tower, TECHNIP FRANCE’s budget for working conditions improvement has been divided by 2. Were such savings used for moving expenses? Nearly one year after the arrival of the first employees and residents in TECHNIP tower, many problems remain unsolved, such as: We have also noted that at level R1, 2 months after cracks in the floor have been repaired the photocopier is still in the corridor. Compliance with French labour laws
UGICT CGT shop stewards request that Executive Management should comply with French labour laws: |
