Global Framework Agreement

As proposed in our leaflet published on July 30, 2003, basic social standards in the Group could be guaranteed in the Group in a Global Framework Agreement: health insurance, retirement pensions, severance pay, occupational medicine, maternity leaves, working hours, holidays, business travel conditions, etc., as well as salaries, will probably remain different whatever our efforts to raise the social standards in low-cost countries and in countries where social benefits are low. But thus, minimum guarantees would be defined.

We consider that this type of agreement would be better than a mere code of ethics integrating a few social issues.

A global framework agreement would be an actual commitment signed by the Chairman and unions, with an actual legal value. Such a contract would be applicable in all entities in the Group.

Such framework agreements have already been signed by the International Metalworkers’ Federation with Multinationals. It is an opportunity we are analysing in cooperation with the CGT’s French Metalworkers’ Federation.

Our goal is to go further into this question and to define with other parties wishing to participate in this project with us the guidelines of what could such a framework agreement be in the TECHNIP Group.
